WE ARE ARCHITECTS - EST. 1904
- Des Brand (Director)
"We are incredibly lucky in South Africa today as there is an excitement and revival of our cities and surroundings with buildings (new and old) inspired by a new spontaneous type of creativity that is not only being developed by our Architectural industry, but is supported by others such as technology, materials and systems that we have at our disposal and which we should surround ourselves with to mould out incredible new places for all people and their activities."
The practice was established on Church Square in Pretoria by Mr. J.R. Burg on the 4th of March 1904. Throughout the years the practice has changed names as partners either joined or retired. The company's name changed from Burg Doherty Bryant & Partners to the now established and registered - BILD Architects (Pty) Ltd.
For a company as established as Bild Architects, we have been through and seen many changes. With this modern redevelopment comes a staying power culminated with the spirit and promise of Architecture. The filters through which the old projects onto the new comes to a stand still with this bold identity, our iconic historic culture and another century of creating landmarks.
We are currently a Generic level 2 contributor, and continuously endeavour on improving our rating. We aim to do so through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of our staff, offering internships & mentoring of tertiary students, awarding bursaries to prospective students and also through our supply chain. Furthermore, we have in the recent past completed a number of successful projects with emerging Consultants on the basis of a joint venture and the accompanying mentorship that goes with such a working relationship.
We remain committed to the huge role that the architectural industry plays in shaping the future of South Africa and in developing and nurturing young professionals, and will steadfastly continue walking the path with our clients into the future.
